Ballyfermot College of Further EducationBallyfermot College of Further Education is one of Ireland’s leading College of Further Education and a constituent college of the City of Dublin Education and Training Board.  The college has over 1500 full time day students. Established in 1979 as Ballyfermot Senior College the college was at the forefront of the development of the new Post Leaving Certificate sector which flourished from 1985 supported by funding under the Vocation Preparation and Training programme.  The college changed its name to Ballyfermot College of Further Education in 1998 in keeping with the services it provided.

The college now has programmes in Animation, Television and Film, Multimedia and Computer Games, Radio, Print Journalism, Presentation and Performance, Music Management, Sound Engineering, Traditional and Rock Music, Business Studies, Social Care, Travel and Tourism, Art Design and Graphics, Return to Learning and Adult Education programmes.  Courses offered in BCFE are at levels 5 to 8 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications.

The college is well known for its music, media, animation, digital media and computer games courses. BCFE has considerable experience in transnational mobility especially in the field of language and music and has undertaken several mobility projects over the recent years.

The partnership with Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce in Lusaka is based on collaboration and learning.  BCFE is committed to integrating development and global education into the mainstream curriculum in a vocationally relevant way and to creating a global citizenship and rights supporting environment in the college.
